DCR Safety Regulations
- Water Level: Official measurement at New Elvet Bridge via the Environment Agency station.
- Above 0.750m: Novice crews may not boat.
- Above 0.900m: River closed — no crews may boat.
- Temperature: Boating prohibited if colder than -5°C or hotter than 25°C.
- Wind: Sustained wind exceeding 25mph or gusts exceeding 45mph cancels all boating.
- Boat Lighting: White bow light and red stern light required:
- Before 30 minutes after official sunrise.
- After 30 minutes before official sunset.
- Novice Hours: Wednesdays & Sundays between 12:00 and 15:00 reserved exclusively for novice crews.
- DCR Time Trials: Fridays 07:00–09:00 on the Racecourse (exclusive to trial competitors).
